Privacy Notice

This notice explains what information may be collected when you use Traverse County Inmate Population, how that information is used, and when it may be shared. By using this site, you accept the practices described here.

Information You Choose to Send

Search Terms

When you enter a name, place, or other lookup detail into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Traverse County Inmate Population does not keep a separate local log of those search terms.

Messages

If you email us or send a message, we use the information in that message to respond. We do not share contact messages outside our organization unless a valid legal requirement makes disclosure necessary.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, this site may receive basic technical information when pages load, including:

  • Your IP address.
  • Browser type and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages visited and approximate time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when available.
  • Date and time stamps.

Cookies

Cookies and similar tools help measure how visitors use the site and may support advertising or analytics. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although some features or measurements may work differently after they are blocked.

How We Use Information

  • To keep pages available, responsive, and secure.
  • To send search requests to the correct partner service.
  • To understand which Traverse County jail, court, DOC, VINE, BOP, or ICE resource pages are useful.
  • To diagnose errors, broken links, and technical issues.
  • To display advertising that may be more relevant to visitor interests.

Outside Websites

This site links to county roster pages, sheriff resources, Minnesota court and corrections portals, public-record statutes such as Minn. Stat. 13.03, 13.82, and 13.85, federal locators, VINE, ICE, BOP, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the privacy notice and terms of the destination website control your use of that service.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites or serve interest-based ads. That tracking is handled by those partners, not by Traverse County Inmate Population.

Who May Receive Information

We do not sell personal information. Information may be available to the following parties when needed for the uses described above:

  • Search partners that process lookup queries.
  • Analytics providers that measure site performance.
  • Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
  • Law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or similar legal process requires it.

Security

We use reasonable security practices for a public reference website. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed free from unauthorized access, interruption, or loss, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor submitted information to us, contact us so the information can be reviewed for deletion.

  • You may ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • You may ask us to correct information that is wrong.
  • You may request deletion of information where applicable.
